BEAUTIFUL  SCARF  WITH A HOOD AND THE POCKETS. I USED THIS CHRISTIAN DIOR  1940'S  FABRIC PRINT INSPIRED HOUNDSTOOTH STITCH . YOU CAN MAKE IT IN BLACK AND WHITE TOO. IT IS VERY BEAUTIFUL AND UNIQUE .

ALL MY PATTERNS ARE WRITTEN IN US TERMINOLOGY

https://www.lovecrafts.com/?utm_mediu...

MATERIAL:

I USED SIMPLY ARAN YARN PAINTBOX , BUT YOU CAN USE ANY  YARN YOU LIKE

5 MM HOOK.

START WITH SLIP KNOT

START WITH ANY ODD NUMBER FOR THE WIDTH FOR YOUR SCARF

I HAVE  CH 21

R1:

SC INTO 2ND CH FROM HOOK, DC IN THE NEXT CH, *SC IN THE NEXT ,DC IN THE NEXT *AND SO ON REPEAT  ALL THE WAY ACROSS FINISH WITH UNFINISHED DC IN THE LAST CH.END  WITH 2 LOOPS ON THE HOOK AND BRING  YARN (B).DROP YARN (A) DON'T FASTEN OFF.BRING YARN (B) AND PULL THROUGH THE 2 LOOPS YOU HAD ON YOUR HOOK.CH 1 WITH YARN( B),TURN YOUR WORK.

R2:

WORK WITH YARN (B) BUT , ALSO WITH YARN (A)YOU WILL CROCHET OVER THE YARN (A). CARRY OVER  YARN (A) ON TOP OF THE STITCHES. MAKE SURE , YOU WORK OVER YARN (A ) AS YOU WORK WITH YARN( B.)

WITH YARN (B) WORK THE SAME .*SC INTO FIRST DC ,DC INTO THE NEXT SC* REPEAT ALL THE WAY ACROSS . FINISH WITH UNFINISHED DC WITH 2 LOOPS ON THE HOOK . BRING YARN (A )THROUGH THESE 2 LOOPS AND DROP YARN (B.) CH 1 WITH YARN (A). REPEAT FOR THE LENGHT YOU NEED.

NOTE : ALWAYS START WITH SC , AND WITH UNFINISHED DC.

WORK UNTIL YOU GET THE LENGTH YOU NEED FOR YOUR SCARF.

SHORT PEOPLE :

150 CM (LONG SCARF) +( 2X )15 CM  ( DEEP POCKETS)   =150 +30=180 CM

TALL PEOPLE:

WORK 180 ( LONG SCARF) +( 2X) 15 CM ( DEEP POCKETS) = 180 +30 =210 CM

POCKETS:

ONCE HAPPY WITH THE LENGTH OF YOUR SCARF FASTEN OF ONLY WHITE COLOUR BECAUSE I WILL CONTINUE WORKING WITH MY  BLUE  ONE FOR THE RIBBING .

WORK 1 ROW OF SC ACROSS, CH 1 AND TURN

WORK SC BACK LOOP ONLY FOR 5 ROWS OR MAYBE MORE IF YOU WANT YOUR POCKETS  DEEPER.

CH1 AND FATEN OFF. DO EXACTLY THE SAME ON THE OTHER SIDE.

NOW WE HAVE RIBBING FINISHED. FOLD THE POCKETS UP , SO WHEN YOU MEASURE  THEM THEY WILL BE 15CM  DEEP , BUT DON'T MEASURE THE RIBBING .

PLACE THE PEGS OR DRESSMAKER CLIPS ON EACH SIDE , ON TOP AND THE BOTTOM OF EACH POCKET.

SO THEY WILL STAY IN PLACE WHILE YOU SEW THEM.

START WITH THE KNOT  FIRST , SEW FROM THE FROM TOP ON THE SIDE OF YOUR POCKET AND DO 3 STITCHES IN ONE PLACE , AND WORK YOUR WAY DOWN.THEN START FROM THE TOP OF YOUR POCKET  ON THE OTHER SIDE AND DO 3 STITCHES AGAIN AND WORK YOUR WAY DOWN. DO EXACTLY THE SAME ON BOTH SIDES.

HOODIE:

FOLD YOUR SCARF IN HALF  AND PLACE THE CLIP OR A STITCH MARKER IN THE MIDDLE THEN MEASURE THE WIDTH OF YOUR HOOD

MEASURE 23 -25 CM DOWN AND PLACE THE STITCH MARKERS OR THE CLIPS ON BOTH SIDES.

OPEN THE SCARF.YOU WILL HAVE 46 - 50 WIDE HOOD.

NOW WE WILL START ON RIGHT SIDE AND WE WILL WORK TO THE LEFT.

START WHERE IS YOUR STITCH MARKER.

MAKE A SLIP KNOT AND TAKE IT OF YOUR HOOK , INSERT THE HOOK IN THE PLACE WHERE WAS YOUR STITCH MARKER AND PLACE THE KNOT BACK ON YOUR HOOK. CH 1

AND START YOUR HOUNDSTOOTH STITCH AGAIN, BUT  AS WE DON'T HAVE PROPER STITCHES ALONG THE EDGE YOU WILL HAVE TO SPREaD THEM NICELY AS GOOD AS YOU CAN, NOT TOO FAR APART FROM EACH OTHER.

AND WORK THE PATTERN :

START WITH SC  IN THE FIRST GAP , THEN IN THE NEXT WORK DC , IN THE NEXT SC AND SO ON ACROSS.

WORK UNTIL YOU GET TO THE LAST STITCH MARKER ON THE OTHER SIDE. IN THE LAST STITCH , MAKE  TO DO UNFINISHED DC AND BRING THE WHITE YARN. AND SIMPLY REPEAT THE HOUNDSTOOTH STITCH LIKE WE DID ON THE SCARF. WORK LIKE THIS UNTIL YOU GET   35 -40 CM HIGH OR 38 INCH HOOD.

FASTEN OFF WITH BOTH COLOURS TOGETHER . SO IN YOUR LAST UNFINISHED DC YOU WILL PULL BOTH CLOURS, THEN DON'T FASTEN OF WE WILL SEW WITH BOTH COLOUR TOGETHER.

SEW THE HOOD ON TOP

ONCE YOU HAVE YOUR BOTH LOOPS IN THE CONER FOLD THE HOOD IN HALF TO  SEW THE TOP .MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE YOUR SCARF FOLDED SO THE RIGHT SIDES ARE TOGETHER.

INSERT THE HOOK CLOSER TO YOU  AND BRING THOSE 2 LOOPS THROUGH FROM THE OPPOSITE SIDE AND AND CH 1  , GO IN THE NEXT STITCH CLOSER TO YOU AND THEN ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE AND YO, WORK SC ACROSS LIKE THIS WITH BOTH COLOURS . CH1, FASTEN OFF AND HIDE YOUR ENDS.

TASSELS :

I WILL PLACE 5  TASSELS ,BUT YOU CAN HAVE AS MANY AS YOU LIKE.

MEASURE THE LENGTH YOU WANT , I HAVE 25 CM , BUT WE WILL HAVE TO DOUBLE THE LENGTH BECAUSE WE WILL FOLD THEM IN HALF.  ONCE YOU GOT THEM READY I HAVE ABOU 5 LENGTHS FOR FOR ONE TASSEL .

INSERT HOOK FROM THE BOTTOM OF YOUR SCARF . PLACE THE LOOP ( HALF FOLDED TASSEL) AND PLACE THE LOOPS ON THE HOOK AND BRING IT THROUGH AND CRETE A LARGE LOOP , INSERT THE ENDS OF YOUR TASSEL IN AND MAKE IT TIGHT.

PLACE AS MANY TASSELS AS YOU LIKE AT THE BOTTOM PART OF YOUR SCARF.

EDGING :

YOU WILL START ON THE INSIDE OF YOUR SCARF. MAKE A SLIP KNOT FIRST ,INSERT HOOK CLOSE TO THE TASSEL YOU HAD IN THE CONER AND BRING THE SLIP KNOT IN AND  CH 3 AND TRY TO PLACE DC ALONG THE END UNTIL YOU GET TO OTHER SIDE OF YOUR SCARF. PLACE THEM AS NICE AS POSSIBLE AND NOT TOO FAR APART FROM EACH OTHER.ONCE YOU GET TO THE OTHER SIDE WHERE IS THE TASSEL IN THE CORNER MAKE LAST DC , CH3 AND TURN YOUR WORK .

WORK BACK POST DC AROUND YOUR VERY FIRST DC FROM THE ROUND BELOW. WORK BACK POST DC ACROSS , CH 3 AND TURN YOUR WORK  AND REPEAT FOR 5 ROWS.CH1 AND FASTEN OF HIDE YOUR ENDS.

STRECH IT A LITTLE BIT , IT WILL CURL UP , BUT DON'T WORRY WE WILL FIX IT :)

BRING YOUR BLUE COLOUR AND MAKE SLIP KNOT . TAKE  IT OF YOUR HOOK. INSERT YOUR HOOK IN THE PLACE FROM THE SIDE WHERE YOU PLACES YOUR VERY FIRST DC IN ROUND 1 AND PLACE THE KNOT BACK ON HOOK CH1 .WORK 3 SC IN THE CONER AND THEN SIMPLY WORK SC ON TOP THE EACH DC FROM THE ROUND BELLOW. ONECE YOU GET TO THE OTHER SIDE,  WORK 3 SC IN THE CONER AND  THEN SC IN THE CONES WHERE YOU WORKED YOUR VERY FIRST DC IN ROUND 1, IN THE NEXT STITCH DO SLIP STITCH , CH1 AND FASTEN OFF . HIDE YOUR ENDS.

AND WE ARE FINISHED , ENJOY  XXX
